Circus Tents

We seemed like circus tents
with people in between
and circuit boards with limbs
dangling like sheets.
You know,
you beat,
the wrinkles clean out of me.
Wringing me out
and soaking me back up by your cheeks.

And our brains collided
side by side, half a heart.
as our skeletons were married
at the end of last March.
You know,
Last year
was just another dance
and the choreographer was twisted at the hip
You know,
I couldn't seem to do it
when you left me taking sips
of green tea,
Adjusted temperature,
with chlorine
and a half cup of bleach.

You. You. You. You followed me to my mountain house, well let us now.
You. You. You carved me into your waist, now we're face to face.
You. You wrote me on your shopping list, let us do our best.

When you go up and up and out,
just let me know.
Let me know
because my insides are out
and wrap all around you.
They wrap all around you.

You. You. You. You followed me to my mountain town, well let us now.
You. You. You carved me, in two, your waist, now we're face to face.
You. You wrote me. On your shopping list, 'let us do our best.'
You carved me.
In two.
Your waist.
We won't lay face to face.

So when you go up and up and out
just let me know.
Just let me go.
